Mini House Haul - Typo Stationary

Well hello there,

As I mentioned on Wednesday, I did a little shopping last week for some home decor bits and bobs.

I am currently in the process of completely reorganising and redecoration our flat in an effort to be more grown up and tidy. I will go into more detail about why I am doing this another time, but basically I just want to make the house more inviting and am really focused on keeping a central colour scheme for each room.

The first room I am shopping for (and making me the most excited) is our 'chill out' room. For me, this is super exciting because it is were all my makeup is being moved too :D and for Philip it will have his books and his guitar. The idea is to make it a nice cosy hide-away from the world where we can go and relax.

This room currently has baby blue walls, and I have chosen to pair that with white for the central colour scheme.

The for the redecorating I have set myself a challenge, I cannot buy a SINGLE thing for the house unless it is on sale. This has actually been surprisingly easy and a great way to keep control of my spending. SO whilst out with Grace I just wanted to shop the sales and see if I could find any bargains, and surprise surprise, I did ! :)

I found 2 pieces I really loved from Typo Stationary which I want to share with you:

The first item is a china mug which I bought for $4, originally $6.
This mug was one of those 'for charity' deals when you get to the counter and was $4 with any other store purchase. They had many different designs to pick from, but I chose the graphic blue, white and black design as it fit with the room decor.
I also love the cardboard box that the mug came it as it has the same pattern but also has a story about where your money from these mugs is going to be spent.

The second item that I bought is the one I am most excited about !
I saw this box in the sale section right at the back and was immediately drawn to the amazing blue and white patterns.
It had a price tag on it for $12 which I was happy to pay just for the box, but when I turned it over to see how much it had cost originally its said $42 ! I couldn't work out why it would have ever cost that much when I had a brainwave to look inside (silly Sian) and low and behold, inside was a set of two adorable blue and white teacups and saucers.
I knew instantly that I HAD to own it, and grabbed this bargain with $30 off ! :) YAY

So that a wee snippet of the kind of things I'm looking for in my new decor, and there is plenty more to come don't worry :)

My next post will be a tad late (Tuesday or Wednesday) as I want to talk about the awesome weekend I'm having with some friends who are visiting us from Christchurch ! It will be a good way to show some of the more touristy things you can get up to in Wellington and some easy casual curvy OOTD and make-up from that weekend will be up on Wednesday :)

Till next time,

Curvy OOTD

Well hello there,

So last Tuesday the weather was HORRIBLE ! And I don't just mean a bit of rain, I mean crazy angry rain and wind and cold. I would have loved to stay wrapped up in bed all day but I had already arranged to meet for coffee with one of my best buddies, Grace, since we hadn't caught up since my birthday. So I rugged up warm and braved the weather to head into town.

I don't feel the cold very much, so this wasn't my main concern. I was more worried about the rain flattening my hair and giving my panda eyes.

My solution to this was a woolly beanie hat with the cutest pompom right on the top. From there I build my outfit along a grey and black theme.

*Excuse the poor quality photos. These we were taken on my phone as I am in the process of buying a remote for our DSLR*

-----------------------------------------------------------

To go with this outfit I chose to wear a silver eye with a light coral lip.

To create this look I used:

Face: Bare Minerals 'Prime Time' Primer, 2True 3in1 Concealer, Bare Minerals Foundation in 'Fairly Light', Bare Minerals 'Warmth' as a Contour, No7 Blush in Petal, MUA Undressed Eyeshadow Palette for Eyebrows (Shade 4)

Eyes: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 603 (Silver), Revlon Custom Eyes Pallet in 035 Smoky Sexy (Blue), MUA Undressed Eyeshadow Palette (Shade 11 and 12), Catrice Gel Eyeliner in Black, Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara in Black

Lips: Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Finish Lipstick in 674 Coralberry, Australis Lacquered Candy Lipgloss in Sheer Pink

-----------------------------------------------------------

It ended up being a really lovely afternoon of cafes and shopping, and it even stopped raining for a bit ! Which made walking around town a lot more enjoyable for sure !

I was mostly just window shopping (unlike Grace, the little shopaholic !), but I did pick up a few little surprises for the new house decor, so keep your eyes peeled for a mini house haul on Friday :)

I would love it if you would follow my blog, so that you can see all my new content, and leave me a comment if you want to say 'Hi' !

Till next time :)

Get to know me TAG :)

Well hello there :)

So, I'm new here and was thinking, you guys might want to know a bit more about me before you start taking my advice or reading what I have to say, and what better way to do that then with a 'Get to know me' TAG ! :)

I love watching and reading these kinds of tags as you get to learn a lot about a person in a short time, and its always cool to know who is behind the screen.

So here goes :) 21 facts about little old me.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Are you named after anyone? Not for my first name (Sian) I don't think, but my middle name (Eleanor) is either my mum or dad's grandma's name, and my sisters middle name is the other one (I forget, sorry Mum)

2. When was the last time you cried? Last week sometime, it was happy tears though :)

3. Do you have kids? Nope, but i hope to one day

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? Oooo hard question ... I would probably be my friend, but I wouldn't live with me, I'm too messy haha

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Not tonnes, no

6. Will you ever bungee-jump? Given the opportunity, yeah I think so

7. What’s your favourite cereal? I don't really eat breakfast (naughty, I know) but when I was a kid I love Kellogg's Frosties

8. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Their hair

9. What is your eye colour? Grey-ish, which means depending on the day they can look green, blue, hazel or a mixture ... sounds cool, but can make it really hard to find makeup to complement them

10. Scary movie or happy endings? Depends what mood I'm in, but mostly happy endings

11. Favorite smells? Petrol, Peppermint Tea and Birthday Candles

12. Summer or winter? Winter, though I'm not a fan of rain

13. Computer or television? Use to be a TV person, now I'm a computer person as I can watch anything I want online

14. What’s the furthest you've ever been from home? Well It depends where I consider home ? I have done a lot of travelling, but this question is difficult because I would consider either the UK or NZ to be home and they are about as far from each other as you can get in this world haha ... So therefore the furthest from home would be in between those 2, so my answer is Thailand (wow that was a hard one! haha)

15. Do you have any special talents? I can keep a conversation going about pretty much anything, though I'm not sure if that is a talent or a justification for being a chatterbox haha

16. Where were you born? Guernsey, UK ... Its a very small island off the coast of France ... Google it

17. What are your hobbies? Make-up, scrapbooking, travelling to visit family, shopping, Candy Crush (So addictive!) and cooking

18. Do you have any pets? Nope, but we have plants :D

19. Favourite movie? Pride and Prejudice (BBC version only !), The Holiday, Bridget Jones and currently The Great Gatsby

20. Do you have any siblings? Sure do, 3 awesome little sisters. Cookie (Rhiannon) who is 19, Megan who is 13 and Cerys who is 9

21. What do you want to be when you grow up? A fully qualified, fully registered Early Childhood Teacher :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DONE! :)

So I hope that helped you get to know me a bit better :) I tag anyone who hasn't done this and who wants to do it, and if you do, leave me a link in the comments so I can go over and read your version :)

Thanks for reading and my next post is on Wednesday and is a curvy OOTD so keep you eyes peeled for that !

Till next time,
