Well hello there,
As I mentioned on Wednesday, I did a little shopping last week for some home decor bits and bobs.
I am currently in the process of completely reorganising and redecoration our flat in an effort to be more grown up and tidy. I will go into more detail about why I am doing this another time, but basically I just want to make the house more inviting and am really focused on keeping a central colour scheme for each room.
The first room I am shopping for (and making me the most excited) is our 'chill out' room. For me, this is super exciting because it is were all my makeup is being moved too :D and for Philip it will have his books and his guitar. The idea is to make it a nice cosy hide-away from the world where we can go and relax.
This room currently has baby blue walls, and I have chosen to pair that with white for the central colour scheme.
The for the redecorating I have set myself a challenge, I cannot buy a SINGLE thing for the house unless it is on sale. This has actually been surprisingly easy and a great way to keep control of my spending. SO whilst out with Grace I just wanted to shop the sales and see if I could find any bargains, and surprise surprise, I did ! :)
I found 2 pieces I really loved from Typo Stationary which I want to share with you:
The first item is a china mug which I bought for $4, originally $6.
This mug was one of those 'for charity' deals when you get to the counter and was $4 with any other store purchase. They had many different designs to pick from, but I chose the graphic blue, white and black design as it fit with the room decor.
I also love the cardboard box that the mug came it as it has the same pattern but also has a story about where your money from these mugs is going to be spent.
The second item that I bought is the one I am most excited about !
I saw this box in the sale section right at the back and was immediately drawn to the amazing blue and white patterns.
It had a price tag on it for $12 which I was happy to pay just for the box, but when I turned it over to see how much it had cost originally its said $42 ! I couldn't work out why it would have ever cost that much when I had a brainwave to look inside (silly Sian) and low and behold, inside was a set of two adorable blue and white teacups and saucers.
I knew instantly that I HAD to own it, and grabbed this bargain with $30 off ! :) YAY
So that a wee snippet of the kind of things I'm looking for in my new decor, and there is plenty more to come don't worry :)
My next post will be a tad late (Tuesday or Wednesday) as I want to talk about the awesome weekend I'm having with some friends who are visiting us from Christchurch ! It will be a good way to show some of the more touristy things you can get up to in Wellington and some easy casual curvy OOTD and make-up from that weekend will be up on Wednesday :)
Till next time,
S xx
